Description
This course explores the Christian approaches to counseling as a part of the healing and reconciling ministry within the Christian tradition and within the expectations of parishioners. It is designed to assist the student to learn the fundamentals of Christian counseling; to initiate the counseling experience and to learn limitations occurring within the cross-cultural setting of ministry. The student will be able to minister more effectively knowing when to refer a person or are no longer qualified to continue counseling a particular person. The course assumes that pastors/church leaders will be called upon by their parishioners for counseling and must engage the person as a part of the ministry. The course is at a beginning level. (Identical to E1114 Counseling for Church Leaders.)
